About Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC)

The Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) provides team-based care for non-emergency health concerns to individuals in Ashcroft and surrounding communities who require same-day attention.

If you have a health emergency that requires immediate care, call 911 or present at the nearest emergency department.

Care is available for concerns such as:

  • Minor injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Infections
  • Less serious child illness and injury
  • High fever
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions

If you do not have a family doctor/nurse practitioner, or you are unable to get an appointment with your care provider that day, you can visit the UPCC. A health-care team is available, virtually or in-person to provide care for your health issues. You may see one or more of the following health professionals depending on your care needs:

  • Family physician
  • Nurse practitioner
  • Registered nurse
  • Mental health and substance use clinicians
  • indigenous Patient Navigator

  • Walk-in services for same-day, urgent care are available, but please note:
    • If you have an urgent health-care need and are planning to visit the UPCC, we encourage you to first call the site at 250-453-2211 and talk to one of our registered nurses, who will ask about your health-care concern and advise you on the next steps, whether that's visiting the UPCC or accessing alternate services.
    • Walk-in availability is limited and prioritized by urgency. There is no guarantee you will be seen by a physician/nurse practitioner. If you are not able to be seen that day, an appointment will be booked for you at a future date or you will be directed to alternate services as appropriate.
