A small electronic device that helps your heart beat at the right rate. When needed, it sends an electrical impulse to your heart, triggering a heartbeat.

Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)

A small electronic device that is surgically inserted to help with very fast heart rates or dangerous life-threatening electrical activity in the heart. The ICD monitors for dangerous rhythms and may provide an electrical shock to help put the heart back into a normal rhythms. An ICD can also be a pacemaker of the heart beats too slow.

Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)

A small cardiac device that uses small electrical impulses to allow the left and right side of the heart to pump at the same time, increasing the strength of the heart. This may be used as a treatment for heart failure.
