Industrial camps
Industrial camps are places where people are employed and accommodated on site – such as camps supporting forestry, saw mills, mining, canneries, oil and gas activities or a similar industry, such as agriculture work camps and tree planting camps.
- Camp operation is regulated under the Public Health Act Industrial Camps Regulation
- Contact your regional Environmental Public Health & Licensing office at the earliest possible stage before camp development to have your camp plans reviewed
- Prior to operation of an industrial camp, and in addition to the requirements of the Industrial Camps Regulation, you must ensure requirements under the Drinking Water Protection Act, the Sewerage System Regulation and the Food Premises Regulation are met.
