• Scope: The CMH redevelopment project includes an addition to the existing hospital as well as renovations to the existing facility. People will have increased access to health-care services as the expanded hospital will include:
  • A new emergency department with 23 treatment spaces, an increase of 12; two trauma treatment bays; a seclusion room; an ambulance carport and a separate public entrance.
  • A new medical/surgical inpatient unit with 36 beds, an increase of 16.
  • A new mental-health and substance-use inpatient unit with eight single-occupancy rooms and a patient seclusion room.
  • An expanded ambulatory care and oncology unit with 16 renovated treatment spaces.
  • An expanded maternity and women's health unit with four single-occupancy rooms for maternity care, two nursery rooms and two women's health beds in private rooms. The maternity area will allow parents to stay in the same room with their babies until they are ready to go home.
  • An expanded pharmacy, providing additional space for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • An interfaith sacred space, which will allow for traditional cultural and healing practices.
  • 71 new parking stalls.

• Scope: A new four-storey long-term care facility will be constructed on the same site as Dr. F.W. Green Memorial Home at 1700 4 St. South, Cranbrook, replacing the 60-bed long-term care home with an additional 88 new beds for a total of 148 beds. The new care home will be designed as “households” accommodating 12 to 18 residents where each resident will have a single-bed room with dedicated washroom. The “households” will include the social and recreational spaces found in a typical home-like environment such as a living room, dining room, activity space and access to the outdoors. There will also be community spaces and services for residents, families, visitors and staff, including activity rooms, a hair salon, sacred space and a 25-space adult day program for people living more independently in the community. As well, a child care space will be constructed with capacity for 37 children. Construction is expected to start in 2025 and will be done in two phases. Phase 1 is anticipated to open in 2027, relocating all existing residents and making way for Phase 2 to accept new residents in 2029.

• Scope: Phase 1 includes  Aa new nine-storey hospital tower that will has modernized the Royal Inland Hospital campus, with a new main entrance, atrium and patient registration area and with private, single-patient rooms throughout. The tower will beis home to mental health and substance use units for children and adults, new operating rooms, new labour and delivery rooms and a neo natal intensive care unit. There are inpatient units for neuroscience trauma and stroke as well as a new rehab unit. A rooftop helipad will makes patient transfers quicker. 
  Phase 2 of the project is currently underway and includes renovations and expansion to the emergency department as well as enhancements to the pediatric unit and the post-anesthetic recovery department.

• Scope: The five-storey facility will be built on the Westlands site on the RIH campus. There will be space for radiation treatment, radiation-therapy planning, including a CT Simulator, an outpatient ambulatory-care unit, including 10 exam rooms, and two consultation rooms for radiation-therapy services, an additional MRI suite, and patient arrival and check-in areas. The centre will have three linear accelerator vaults. These heavy, concrete structures contain radiation equipment used for cancer-patient treatment. In collaboration with Indigenous partners, there will also be a sacred space for patients, caregivers and staff, with features to support traditional ceremonies. The project also includes upgrades to RIH to expand cancer care, which includes updating and expanding the pharmacy, and relocation and expansion of the Community Oncology Network clinic from the eighth floor to the main floor with more space and improved access. A new 470-stall parkade will also be constructed as part of the centre.

• Scope: Installation of a new 3T MRI machine replacement of an existing 1.5T MRI machines at Kelowna General Hospital. Construction began in September 2023 and is anticipated to be complete in 2025. The machines will bring new capacity to the region, increasing the number of MRI scans from approximately 7,000 to 15,000 per year. It will also reduce the length of the scan, meaning shorter turnaround between patients, as well as higher-quality images.

• Scope: A new four-storey long-term care facility will be constructed on the same site as Cottonwoods Care Home at 2255 Ethel St., Kelowna, increasing the total number of beds on site to 314. The new care home will be designed as “households” accommodating 12 to 18 residents where each resident will have a single-bed room with dedicated washroom. The “households” will include the social and recreational spaces found in a typical home-like environment such as a living room, dining room, activity space and access to the outdoors. There will also be community spaces and services for residents, families, visitors and staff, including activity rooms, a hair salon, sacred space and a 25-space adult day program for people living more independently in the community. As well, a child care space will be constructed with capacity for 37 children. Construction is expected to start in 2026 and will be done in two phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of the new four-storey building with 234 long-term care beds. Phase 2 will be demolition of some of the existing buildings on site and construction of the addition for the adult day services program, childcare program, and additional support spaces. Construction is anticipated to be complete in 2029.

• Scope: The oncology department will be relocated to a larger space within the hospital and the expansion will include more systemic therapy chairs (chemotherapy), more ambulatory care treatment bays, exam/consult rooms, a patient teaching/staff conference room, an allied health interview/counselling/breakout room and adequate space for equipment, supplies and staff workspace. Construction is underway and is expected to be complete in 2025.

The Nelson Health Campus is being built by and will be owned by a partnership of Columbia Basin Trust and Golden Life Management. Interior Health will lease and operate the facility.

• Scope: The Nelson Health Campus is located on the old Mount St. Francis hospital site. It will include a new 75-bed long-term care home and the amalgamation of existing local health services from the Gordon Road Wellness Centre and the Nelson Health Centre. These services include environmental public health and licensing, home health, public health, adult day services, early childhood development, and mental health and substance use. Construction is anticipated to be complete in fall 2024 with the facility ready to open in early 2025

• Scope: A new emergency department with enhanced care spaces and a new day-procedure unit are open in the new addition. A link connects the addition to the existing hospital where renovations to the pharmacy, oncology, physiotherapy departments and the cast clinic were completed. A newly renovated health information management area is also open.

• The David E. Kampe Tower features private, single-patient rooms, a new day surgery area and operating rooms, a rooftop heliport, space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine and a parkade with 480 stalls. Once the tower opened construction began on phase two renovations to the PRH emergency department, pharmacy and material stores. The renovation to the emergency department will significantly increase space, growing by about three times, with enhanced patient privacy and plenty of space for both patients and caregivers.

• A new mammography and breast health program will see new diagnostic tests performed at SLGH, allowing patients to avoid travel to Vernon or Kamloops. A new CT Scanner, used as a diagnostic tool, has the latest in technology and provides shorter tests in some instances.
