Interior Health Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) provide specialized neonatal services to premature infants born in house who are greater or equal than 30 weeks gestation, newborns requiring stabilization and additional support, and infants transferred from other facilities that require ongoing specialized care and management.
Not all acute care sites are equipped to deliver these services, and Royal Inland Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital are the two designated NICUs located in Interior Health. Please consult with your attending midwife, family physician, or obstetrician for more information.
