Overview of Cardiac Sarcoidosis

Cardiac sarcoidosis is a heart condition that affects the heart’s electrical system and heart muscle. It can cause irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia), slow heartbeats (bradycardia) or weak heart pump (heart failure). This is caused by a clusters (groupings) of white blood cells, known as granulomas, which form in the heart muscle.

There are many tests that may be used to help diagnose and monitor your cardiac sarcoidosis. What tests you need will be determined by your health-care provider and based on your specific health condition. Your health-care provider will discuss any tests required with you.
