Social Workers are important team members in all sectors of care within Interior Health.  By assessing, understanding and influencing the social determinants of health, Social Workers address practical, emotional, social and economic barriers that prevent individuals from benefiting fully from the skilled care of other health professionals.   Social Workers help patients/clients and their families to negotiate complex systems, build solid support networks, cope with stress, and strengthen or restore their ability to self-manage.   Services may not be available in your community, please contact yourlocal Home and Community Care office.
